Senator Dodd has served in the California State Senate since 2016, where he serves as chair of the Senate Committee on Governmental Organization. Sen. Dodd coauthored the California Consumer Privacy Act and other laws dealing with data privacy, security, consumer protection and media literacy. He previously served in the California State Assembly from 2014 to 2016. Prior to his service in the legislature, he was a Napa County Supervisor for 14 years and a small business owner for 25 years.
